The Early Church: Part 2

“I will send the Holy  Spirit and he will guide you into all truth.”

Last Blog I left out some important word pictures of the early church.

They Had Everything in Common 4:32 Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was  his own, but they had everything in common. (https://www.esv.org/Acts+4/)

Letter to Diogenes

…5:5 They dwell in their own countries, but only as
sojourners; they bear their share in all things as
citizens, and they endure all hardships as strangers.
Every foreign country is a fatherland to them, and
every fatherland is foreign.

[They were “Strangers in a Strangerland.” Not  of the world they resided in.]

5:6 They marry like all other men and they beget
children; but they do not cast away their offspring.
5:7 They have their meals in common, but not their
wives.
5:8 They find themselves in the flesh, and yet they
live not after the flesh.
5:9 Their existence is on earth, but their
citizenship is in heaven.

[They were “Strangers in a Strangerland.” Not  of the world they resided in.]

The above description of this early New Testament Church, followed the same Jesus we do. We often fail to live up to that calling because of our separation from Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We sin or feel we have disappointed God, we ask for forgiveness, knowing our sins have already been paid for. We know God promised nothing could separate us from his love. We feel a separation from God, hiding in shadows, knowing we will never win, never really defeat sin. We feel often like a failure. On a turning wheel as a mouse.

This is if his Holy Spirit resides in you, leads you, you have given all parts of your life to him. I’m not talking about a feeling of his spirit during certain times, songs, prayers or messages. We should know he is always with us in us. If not we need to peel away the onion of our life by layer, after layer giving it to Christ.

…The problem with many Christians is that they don’t experience that God is real. God seems to be far away from them. Their prayers seem to be ineffective. Their faith is weak and they lack the boldness to tell others about Jesus Christ…His love can fill our hearts and control our actions. His goodness can flood us and his peace can govern us. (https://www.godisreal.today/how-to-receive-the-holy-spirit/)

By faith, you can trust God right now to fill you. You know you were filled when Baptised. The key is faith. Faith in Jesus and in his promise. I’ll give you a very good article about this. It is the same article I read or close to it in content. But check out Mr. Bill Brights Article. (https://www.cru.org/us/en/train-and-grow/transferable-concepts/be-filled-with-the-holy-spirit.html, Bill Bright)

While I always felt the Holy Spirit was in me, Jesus was not leading me. I believe I have begun the transfer of my life to His control. If you are not led, have not totally turned your life over to Christ, and in FAITH been filled with the power of the Holy Ghost, then you will struggle and not live in Christ.

This Blog entry is not what I want to say. But I felt if you are not prepared to be a New Testament Christian, 100%, then whatever I say will not be heard. You are not of the world. Your Home is not your nation. Why do we act as if it were. Hating, arguing, being separated from the presence of God by our lack of love. “They will know we are Christians by our love.” Jesus is our leader, The Holy spirit will help us resist. Neither Trump nor Nancy Pelosi are out leaders. Jesus is. We should be involved in the things of God not of this world. The USA is not, nor has it ever been a Christian Nation. Jesus will establish our homeland when he returns.

You can only accept the above paragraph, if you have fully given all parts of your life to Christ, and in faith led by the Holy Spirit. The New Testament Church must rise out of the ashes, transformed individually and we will transform our world. AMEN!

Peace In Christ,
